Mike Magilligan is a Public and Instructional Services Librarian for SUNY Canton. Originally from Long Island Mike was working as a musician in New York City for over a decade before obtaining his M.L.S at Pratt Institute. Although he began his “second career” as a music archivist Mike quickly accumulated varied experiences in the field of Librarianship. These experiences include: working In Technical Services, earning a Fellowship at the Metropolitan Museum Of Art and most recently working as a prison librarian. His focus at Canton is to instruct innovative research techniques that blends digital and traditional resources. By encouraging creative thinking as an integral part of the research process Mike aims to provide a user ended experience that fosters individual growth as part of the scholarly process.
